Anonymity is tricky when it comes to cases of sexual harassment and sexual assault. Allowing victims to preserve anonymity is a great way to encourage them to come forward. Remaining anonymous, they have no reason to fear backlash and other retaliatory behavior, which is often the reason victims refrain from going public. But the accused typically feel quite differently about the merits of anonymous reporting.
