CLEVELAND, Ohio -- President of basketball operations Koby Altman, heartsick and still processing the Cleveland Cavaliers’ abrupt end of the season early last week, called it the “silver lining.”
The Altman-led front office negotiated the Caris LeVert trade terms that way for a reason, putting lottery protections on the draft pick in 2022 and 2023. If it doesn’t convey by then, the Cavs will owe Indiana two second-round picks instead.
