The disappearance and tragic death of a 16-year-old in Rochester has drawn attention to the dozens of other missing children in our community.
As of Friday, Oct. 20, there are approximately 40 children listed as missing in Rochester.was reported missing in late August. Sadly, seven weeks later, her body was discovered, with Rochester police categorizing her death as a homicide."Somebody knows something. And that person has to find it within themselves to call us.
"I can't even fathom my child going missing for 10 minutes, let alone some of these families that endure this for not only a day, 10 days, a month, a year, two years," said Merry Williams-Diers, the founder of WNY Missing and Unidentified Persons. "There are cases they haven't received answers or closure in 30 years or upward."Every day, she shares flyers of missing adults and children, including those who have run away.
