Officials said the Sheep Fire started as a vegetation fire Saturday evening and as of Monday morning, the fire has burned 939 acres and is 5% contained.The Sheep Fire In San Bernardino County has burned more than 750 acres as of Sunday afternoon.Evacuations have been ordered for Desert Front Road and Wild Horse Canyon, according to the Department. Law enforcement is going door to door to warn residents of the evacuation order.
An evacuation center for small animals has been opened at the Devore Animal Shelter in San Bernardino.State Route 2 and Highway 138 are closed. There is also a road closure from Hwy 138 to Lone Pine .The San Bernardino County Fire Department is working in conjunction with fire crews from the Angeles National Forest and Cal Fire's San Bernardino Unit.
