Gov.-elect Josh Shapiro will use three Bibles during his swearing-in on Tuesday, including one from the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, site of the largest anti-Semitic massacre in U.S. history, and one carried by a Jewish soldier from Philadelphia on D-Day in 1944.Shapiro, who embraced his deep Jewish faith on the campaign trail, will be the third Jewish governor in Pennsylvania history after Milton Shapp and Ed Rendell.
“The Bible survived without any damage and Tree of Life is honored by its presence at the inauguration,” Myers said.
