With only two rehab appearances prior to his return, Bieber said he was not exactly in the kind of spot with his mechanics and delivery that he wanted to be. But Wednesday’s outing made him feel like he is on the right track.
“I think I found something in my delivery and was able to kind of just go out there and compete in the moment,” he said. “It was a lot better tonight.”“Now he can go home, have hopefully a normal off season and come back next spring and be Bieber,” Francona said. “Nobody has a crystal ball, but I think everybody here has a pretty high level of confidence that he’s pretty good when he’s healthy.”
Bieber’s focus the last few weeks was about getting to a place where he knew he was healthy and could leave the season on his own terms. But the road was not always easy. “The season from a personal standpoint was not ideal, not all that I wanted it to be,” Bieber said. “But you deal with adversity and make the most of it.
