He allowed six hits and didn't let any runner advance beyond second base.
In his final season before becoming eligible for free agency, the 28-year-old right-hander has given up 10 hits in 12 innings with 20 strikeouts and one walk. Dominican reliever Emmanuel Clase recorded his second save by pitching a hitless ninth inning. The loss went to his compatriot Luis Castillo (0-2), who surrendered four runs and 10 hits in five and two-thirds innings.
