Shadow Creek lost to Hightower in the 5A regional final in 2020, coming one step short of the state tournament. Bellaire had its six-game winning streak snapped with the loss. The Cardinals were hoping to get back to the regional final for the third time since 2010. Senior Shawn Jones and freshman Bryce Jackson each scored a team-high 18 points for Shadow Creek, and senior Camron Amboree finished with 14. Jacolb Cole poured in 16 points to lead Bellaire.
