A new BTS video for ShadowandBone season 2 sees the cast confirm production has wrapped and teasing a major new story location in the series.
The cast of Netflix's Shadow & Bone offers an exciting season 2 update in a new behind-the-scenes video for the series. Based on Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse novels, the fantasy drama is set in a universe consisting of six different nations inspired by various cultures and traditions which find themselves torn apart by war.
Jesse Mei Li leads the cast of Shadow & Bone as Alina alongside Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amina Suman, Kit Young, Ben Barnes, Zoë Wanamaker, Lewis Tan, Patrick Gibson, Anna Leong Brophy, Jack Wolfe, and Daisy Head. An adaptation of Bardugo's novels was first announced in early 2019, with Arrival's Eric Heisserer attached as showrunner, creator, and executive producer alongside Shawn Levy via his 21 Laps Entertainment banner.

The biggest takeaway from the Shadow & Bone season 2 BTS video is sure to be the cast's tease of the new location of Hellgate being featured. In Bardugo's novels, the Ketterdam prison Hellgate plays a vital role in Matthias' transformation to a more violent being after enduring the inhumanities there for a year after Nina accused him of being a slave trader in the hopes of keeping him from Fjerdan capture.
