“Dreamforce is astronomically impactful for the whole city,” said one restaurant owner.
But as we head into fall, downtown restaurants are beginning to feel hopeful. And that starts with this week’s, the annual conference from tech company Salesforce. For the first time in two years, out-of-towners are expected to flood the city for the week’s events — about 150,000 people are expected to attend the conference either in-person or online.
Many restaurants downtown reported seeing a 15% to 20% increase in reservations for Dreamforce week, in addition to fully booked private event rooms. Both Waterbar and Epic Steak are nearly fully booked for Monday and Tuesday, he added. Demand is looking similar to that of 2019’s Dreamforce, despite there being fewer attendees this year than the last time the conference was held.
Ryan Cole, a partner at Hi Neighbor Group, said his group’s restaurants The Vault Garden and The Vault Steakhouse are completely booked for this upcoming week.
