President of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi said Friday the Giants look like a playoff team. Whether or not the fans feel that way depends on perspective.

SAN FRANCISCO — Despite the Giants’ recent stretch in which they’ve gone 6-9 while being out-scored 70-46, president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi said Friday the Giants look like a playoff team.

“I know we have the support of ownership to go out and make additions that we think can help with that playoff goal,” Zaidi said. “I think we have the ability to add payroll. What that exact number is as it relates to the CBT threshold, we just haven’t talked about it. But I think there’s an understanding that we’re all going to be supportive if there’s a move that can help improve the team.”The Giants sudden influx of young talent at the catcher position has made it difficult for former No.

Bart hasn’t been needed since the emergence of rookie Patrick Bailey, the Giants’ first-round pick in 2020. The 24-year-old is off to a scorching start in the big leagues. He entered Saturday hitting .303 with an .843 OPS. He’s thrown out 39% of attempted base-stealers . And his 1.9 fWAR is tied for second-best among Giants position players behind Estrada.
