Four people were pronounced dead at the scene and several others taken to hospitals after the van flipped over into the woods.
ABC-7 reported one person was taken to a hospital by helicopter and several others were transported by ambulance. Eight people were hospitalized, according to the news station.
Video from the scene showed the vehicle apparently went over a guardrail and landed on its side in the woods. ABC-7 reported the vehicle was a shuttle van for workers headed to factories in upstate New York. Palisades Interstate Parkway police were at the scene of the crash and not immediately available to comment on the investigation, a police spokesman said early Friday.
