The 76-year-old was serving three life sentences for the rape and murder of Polish student Angelika Kluk and the murders of 15-year-old schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton and 18-year-old Dinah McNicol. “While we have no current lines of investigation into Peter Tobin, we welcome any information in relation to his activities.”In a statement on Facebook, the family said: “We remember Vicky, we remember her laughter, her smile and we want to keep that memory after all the years of having no idea what had happened to her, followed by heartbreak of losing our mum not long after Vicky went missing.
The murderer, rapist and paedophile was said to have been in “total denial” about his crimes and never admitted his guilt for the killings he carried out.Born in August 1946 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Tobin’s life of crime began after he was sent to a reform school at the age of seven and by his early twenties he had served jail terms for burglary, forgery and conspiracy.
After his release from prison, he had been working as an odd-job man and living in Paisley, Scotland using the false name of Pat McLaughlin.
