"Like early in the morning when he's licking my hand.""They know when you're happy, and they know when you're sad, they have that sense," Lacombe said. "Most of us who come here left a pet at home, and we couldn't bring it, so this is a real joy for us," said resident Nelda Shoup."There's nothing like having an animal to pet and to just be with. It's a presence, it's like having a person," she said."He brightens our day, sure does," Shoup said.
