A woman was trying to retrieve her cellphone that had fallen into the hole of an outhouse toilet in a Washington state national forest when she fell in headfirst and had to be rescued by firefighters.
Brinnon Fire Department Chief Tim Manly said the woman had disassembled the toilet seat and used dog leashes to try to retrieve the phone, even using the leashes to tie herself off as she reached for the phone.Manly said the woman unsuccessfully tried to escape for 10-15 minutes. Having been reunited with her phone, she called 911 for help, and the Brinnon Fire Department and Quilcene Fire Rescue responded.
"I don’t have any experience with that kind of a rescue, except for now,” Manly added. “But I know that is not a good place to be.”
