The man pinned and punched the teenager, then grabbed the earbuds the teenager was wearing and threw them. Officers also found out that the man yelled racial slurs and threatened the teenager during the assault.
Park security was able to provide a picture of the man to officers. The teenager had no obvious injuries and declined medical assistance.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, officers were called back to the park after security saw the man in the area, wearing the exact same clothing he wore during the assault.The 50-year-old man was booked into the King County Jail for assault, hate crime, obstructing, and felony harassment.
