Surprise! Masters champion Scottie Scheffler thought he was just making an appearance on ESPN's College GameDay on Saturday morning. It turned into something bigger.
Scheffler was on the set of GameDay with the 2022 Texas golf team, which was being honored by ESPN for winning the NCAA championship. But coach John Fields brought something else: the Nicklaus Award trophy.
“That’s pretty cool,” he said. “I don’t have much to say. I definitely was not expecting that. But it means a lot to me.” He shattered the Tour record for earnings with more than $14 million and won the regular-season FedEx Cup points race.
