The flight to Gran Canaria took off from Edinburgh shortly after 9am on Wednesday morning.
A Jet2 plane heading from Scotland to the Canary Islands had to make an emergency landing shortly after take-off after the aircraft reportedly developed a fault.
Flightradar24 data shows that the jet deviated from its normal flight path over Dublin around 40 minutes into the journey. It then performed three "go-arounds" in the skies over Manchester before landing at Manchester Airport shortly after 10.30am. The spokesperson added: "Flight LS715 from Edinburgh to Gran Canaria followed procedure and diverted to Manchester Airport this morning, due to a minor fault indication. The aircraft landed safely and was met by emergency services as a precautionary measure.
