The 41-year-old, from Kilwinning, was previously locked up for nine months after attacking four nurses who were trying to treat her at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
Karen Clark was working as an accident and emergency specialist at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary before an alcohol addiction made her life spiral out of control.
The following year, Clark, from Kilwinning, was jailed for a further eight months for breaching community payback orders imposed for theft and housebreaking. The shamed medic had previously launched a bid to return to medicine in 2021. But her suspension was extended after a tribunal hearing was told she had a recent conviction for police assault, for which she was admonished by a sheriff.The ex-medic has previously detailed her fight against alcohol addiction in a blog titled 'Karen Clark: a young female doctor shares her journey into recovery from addiction'.
