Scientists discover two new 'super-Earth' planets just 100 light-years away — and one may be suitable for life
According to researchers, that orbit duration is within the star's habitable zone.
That's because the planet's star, LP 890-9, is about 6.5 times smaller and is roughly half as cool temperature-wise as our sun, he explained. Researchers now plan to study the atmosphere of the planet to determine just how habitable it could be. Based on their findings, it's believed that it could be the second most favorable terrestrial planet to sustain life.
