The fire in Easton on Monday affected 15-17 households, officials say.
The Paxinosa Elementary School gym was designated as the evacuation center and was expected to open at 10 p.m., according to the Red Cross and city fire chief.
It was unclear how many people were forced from their homes but the Red Cross said 15 to 17 households are affected by the fire that began around midafternoon. After six hours, fire reportedly had the blaze under control but not yet extinguished. Officials have not indicated that any residents were hurt, though three firefighters were treated during the response.
