The March penalty decision against Jessica McCulloch orders her to pay $50,000 for the costs of the investigation.
Jessica McCulloch and her lawyers held a media conference on Thursday, calling for an investigation into the CRNS’s disciplinary process, alleging the investigation was not properly handled, charges were brought that lacked supporting evidence, and that the process aggravated McCulloch’s post-traumatic stress disorder.
Lawyer Brandi Rintoul said charges should not be brought unless there’s a reasonable chance of conviction. All complaints are reviewed by the investigation committee, and if it determines the allegations are “sufficiently serious and supported on the evidence,” it will recommend a hearing before the disciplinary committee, it added.of charges related to incidents at RPC in 2015 and 2016 and Saskatchewan Hospital in 2019.
Etcheverry found an objective assessment of the evidence underlying two of the unsubstantiated charges “should have illustrated there was no charge to be had,” and said a third charge fell into this category.“Several times … she’s attempted to provide evidence, give statements and give documents in support of her position and each and every time, she has been forced to relive the trauma of Father’s Day 2011,” she said.
