“I get asked it every year and I don’t think we’re going to comment on which position is better than the other.”

When speaking to reporters on Monday afternoon ahead of Tuesday evening’s CFL Draft, the Saskatchewan Roughriders general manager and vice president of football operations remained tightlipped about his plans.Stay on the ball with the 306 Sports Fix newsletter. O’Day and the Riders won’t have to wait long before they are on the clock. Barring a trade, Saskatchewan will pick third overall. And whilethe Green and White will target an offensive lineman with that pick, O’Day wouldn’t disclose if that will be the case, especially considering the offensive line depth the team already has.

The Riders are committed to starting three Canadian offensive linemen and they currently have four players with starting experience on the roster: returnees Evan Johnson and Logan Ferland and newcomers Peter Godber and Philip Blake. The team also has Logan Bandy, who started 11 games last season at centre, along with 2022 draft picks Diego Alatorre Montoya and Zack Fry waiting in the wings.
