The vote passed 43-0, with all governing and Opposition members present in the chamber voting in favour of the motion. Government House Leader Jeremy Harrison had asked for a recording of the vote.Article content Following the vote, former NDP leadership candidate Kaitlyn Harvey accused the party of not caring about concerns brought forward by the“No opposition, no amendments, no motions, no public opposition, no press releases, no consultation, nothing,” stated Harvey on Twitter, who was unavailable for an interview.

When asked why the six NDP members voted yes, Sarauer said the bill is a “copy paste” from what already exists in the Constitution. She said the party wants it to go to committee.Article content
