Singer Tesher, based out of Regina, is up for his first Juno for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Toronto-based, Regina-born Andy Shauf is up for his fourth Juno, this time for Adult Alternative Album of the Year recognizing his record, Wilds.
The album is a collection of nine pieces written and recorded by Shauf between March and May of 2018 and pulled from the roughly 50 tracks he wrote for his previous album, The Neon Skyline, according to material released with the album. Karrnnell Sawitsky, a member of folk trio The Fretless, is originally from Saskatoon and has a Contemporary Roots Album of the Year nomination with the group for the album Open House.James, who was born in Regina and is based in Vancouver, has his record Open Road up for Blues Album of the Year.
