The Great British Bake Off host Sandi Toksvig has quit the Channel 4 baking show after three years.

Toksvig, who has presented alongside Noel Fielding since 2017, revealed she wants to focus on other work projects. In the heartfelt statement shared on Twitter, she also said she's made lifelong friends in Prue Leith, Paul Hollywood and Noel. 'When stepping down from a job, it is quite common for people to say they are doing so in order to spend more time with their family. Unusually I am departing fromso I can spend more time with my other work. As my waistline will testify, Bake Off is an all-consuming show. Spending time with Prue, Paul and Noel has been one of the great pleasures of my life. These are friendships which I know will continue beyond the confines of television.
While one miffed fan wrote: 'Honestly, I wasn't sure about the combination of yourself and Noel as hosts, but it worked perfectly. You absolutely smashed it. Will be a shame to see you leave.'
