San Jose State football could make history now bowl eligible after win
The Spartans have been through an emotional gauntlet. Just two weeks ago they lost a teammate in tragedy, celebrated his life and stepped back into their season in his honor. Now this talented team is making history.
Though the Spartans will hit the road for their next two games, their remaining schedule is favorable. The Spartans offense was slow to roll on Saturday night, but found just enough momentum to edge the Rams. SJSU broke free after that. In the third quarter, a 25-yard pass to Isaiah Hamilton led to Kairee Robinson’s five-yard rushing touchdown to give the Spartans their first lead, 14-10. In the fourth quarter, Cordeiro found a wide open receiver Elijah Cooks for an easy 35-yard touchdown to gain separation, the Spartans up 21-10.
