San Diego Oasis is inviting older adults to its Grossmont Wellness Center to test out classes like cardio drumming and soul line dancing during its Fitness Palooza Sneak Peek event next month.
Working out is an important aspect when it comes to mental health and longevity for seniors, said Simona Valanciute, San Diego Oasis president and CEO.can help older adults reduce their risk of falling, reduce blood pressure, decrease anxiety symptoms and maintain healthy muscles, bones and joints. “We need to constantly strengthen our physical body and ability, whether that means low impact or limited mobility, but maybe that means high intensity,” she said. “That fitness category at San Diego Oasis offers a wide variety, from low to high, but also something really fun that sort of falls in the middle and people can try something that no fitness club or no gym can offer.”
