Questions remain regarding the whereabouts of hundreds of small animals transported from San Diego to Arizona, and where the animals actually ended up.
SAN DIEGO — The whereabouts of hundreds of small animals transferred from San Diego to Arizona are still unknown, and on Tuesday night, the San Diego Humane Society held a meeting with the community that is demanding transparency about what happened.
“We’ve been assured that the animals have been adopted into new homes; we’re just asking for very simple documentation,” said SDHS Executive Director Brain Daugherty. Somehow, 68 of the animals that went to that anonymous group ended up back at the Southern Arizona Humane Society and 24 are now back in San Diego.
