The monthly event is designed to help people resolve a variety of tax account issues, but they do not offer help with tax return preparation

If you're facing an audit or struggling with another issue with your tax account, there's a newly expanded service from the Internal Revenue Service that could help. One Saturday a month for the next three months, the IRS will be staffing a Taxpayer Assistance Centers in downtown San Diego for in-person assistance with tax account issues. While people can get the same services weekdays by appointment, extra Saturdays are for walk-in support, with no appointment needed.

What to bring Along with your government-issued photo ID and Social Security or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers , bring: letters or notices from the IRS, plus related documentsa second form of ID and 'if filed, a copy of the tax return for the year in question,' the agency said.
