Roland Gutierrez will hold a news conference with affected families and survivors of Texas gun violence at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to announce the filing of three pieces of legislation regarding school safety and the prevention of mass shootings.
The three pieces of legislation will add to some of the bills and resolutions already filed by the state senator in January.Gutierrez called for “common sense gun solutions overdue”: raising the age limit for purchasing weapons to 21, tracking bulk ammo sales, and reforming red-flag laws. Posts from several of the state senator’s social media accounts promoted a link for a website also titled “DoSomethingTexas.”
