The increases came as Toyota’s overall sales bounced back from a disappointing first quarter to increase 3.7 percent last month.
The new Sequoia full-sized SUV is shown off when it began rolling off the line at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas in San Antonio last September. Toyota spent $391 million upgrading the plant to be able to manufacture the Sequoia.to its lineup, Toyota is selling nearly the same number of that version of the San Antonio-manufactured full-sized SUV as its gasoline-powered counterpart.
Toyota’s electrified sales were up just more than 9 percent in May, representing about 27 percent of the manufacturer’s total sales.
