Stranger Things star Sadie Sink didn't know who Brendan Fraser was before working with him on The Whale.
Sadie Sink claims she never heard of Brendan Fraser before she took her role in Darren Arronofsky's upcoming drama The Whale. In the early 1990s, Fraser kicked off a strong career in Hollywood. With leading roles in Encino Man, Airheads, George of the Jungle, Blast from the Past, and as Rick O'Connell in the popular The Mummy action-adventure franchise, Fraser established himself as one of the top leading men of his time.
I met Brendan for the first time about a year before the movie started filming. I think Darren and Sam, the writer, wanted to hear it read aloud. So they assembled a group of actors to just come to this theater in the East Village and read 'The Whale.' Everything We Know About The Whale Based on writer Samuel D. Hunter's play of the same name, The Whale centers on a 600-pound man named Charlie who attempts to have a relationship with his estranged daughter Ellie after he had abandoned his family.
