Tributes have been made to ‘bubbly’ and ‘loving’ grandmother who ran a business and was a landlady of a pub.

When she became landlady at The Game Cock with Stuart, they were the first to open a carvery in the area inside The Game Cock.
Brenda and Denise opened their own business, Heads Above in Haslingden, which has been running for 40 years. Betty, Brenda and Denise were crowned Rose Queen for St Mary’s Church in Haslingden. Betty’s first job was as a weaver at Porritts Weaving Shed in Haslingden. She later went on to work at Rossendale General Hospital as an auxiliary nurse. Betty and Jack were together for 12 years and met at a Sports Day held at Accrington Stanley but knew one another from around Oswaldtwistle.
