The rumblings have been there for a few weeks now on social media. Former Alabama players -- to varying degrees -- are voicing their displeasure with their perception of a slipping culture within the Crimson Tide program.
Perhaps the weight of that expectation, fueled by the return of Heisman quarterback Bryce Young and national defensive player of the year Will Anderson, was a factor in the struggles, Saban said Thursday. “He put his finger on the table and said ‘When we played here, we were making sure the other team, when the game is over, would say we never want to play them again. Guys remember everything you ever taught them,’” Saban said. “That’s the kind of culture we want to try to recreate. I think that’s something that got started a little bit last week but it’s something we tried to build all year long. We started the season that way. We lost it.
