San Antonio man gets life in prison for killing father trying to help a stranger with car trouble
Leopoldo Mora, 39, has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting Kenneth Salazar, 57, in June 2021.A jury sentenced a San Antonio man to life in prison for killing a local father and husband who was helping a stranger with his car at a West Side motel in 2021.
Judge Velia Meza sentenced Mora on Thursday after the jury deliberated his punishment for about four hours in the 226th District Court. An anonymous tipster identified Mora as the shooter and he was arrested at his apartment, initially on a parole violation. Surveillance video from the motel showed both men arguing outside before Mora raised his arms and shot Salazar, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
