Rutgers found its way on the short lists of two of its top high school football targets over the past few days.
Imhotep Charter high school, in Philadelphia, has been a top recruiting stop for Northeast coaches due to the influx of talent the school absorbs each year. None more highly recruited than four-star cornerback, who announced on Sunday, that along with Michigan, Penn State and Nebraska, Rutgers had made his top five, and that he will announce his future school on Friday, March 3.
A 5-11, 170-pounder with 28 offers, Woseley is one of the most highly-sought defensive backs in Pennsylvania. Following trips to Rutgers and Penn State last month, and due to the ties of ex-Temple head coach Matt Rhule and his Nebraska staff to Philadelphia and its football culture, Woseley could pick any of the three schools. However, he, arguably, could make the biggest and quickest impact at Rutgers, located just an hour and 20 minutes away from his home.
“My favorite thing we did was watch the hype video,” Woseley told NJ Advance Media back then. “It made me feel like I was already part of the team.”, a 6-5, 320-pound three-star interior offensive lineman, shares Woseley’s love for the Scarlet Knights, and named them in his top three on Saturday, alongside the Nittany Lions and Cornhuskers, which also occupy Woseley’s list.
“What stood out about the visit Rutgers makes you really feel like you belong they show so much love they treat you like family,” Stewart said back then., kept in contact. Stewart dropped in on Penn State on Jan. 28 and will choose his path following a handful of spring visits, which could feature return trips to his finalists and other schools occupying his mind.
The good recruiting vibes segue into the quiet period which allow the staff to host players on campus and make the most direct recruiting pitches as the nation’s top juniors near their college decisions.
