The Irishman has had it tough
It’s winter in East Kilbride and he’s on his own. As he has been since arriving in Scotland. The only food he’s got was gifted to him by a kind-hearted coach. Later on, he gets a job on a building site. But his work-mate is spewing up on his lunch break thanks to a stinking hangover. And that’s on a Wednesday afternoon.

I actually helped build a pub in East Kilbride, which was tough.
“A lot of boys come from Ireland and can’t hack it. That’s the harsh truth. I didn’t want to be like that. What a waste of time that would be. It’s one of the most thoughtful things anyone has ever done for me. I’d do anything for Holmer now. Stuart Malcolm gave me a chance there when no one else would.
Very strong was the answer. Paton earned moves to Stranraer then Queen of the South, as he climbed his way back up the SPFL ladder. Now, he’s firing for Queen’s Park in the Championship, with a goal in Friday’s defeat by Ayr taking his tally to nine in just 12 appearances for the Spiders this season.
