Royal Mail said it had 'contingency plans' after Raac was found in the roof of the office in Barnsley.
Parts of a Royal Mail delivery office have been closed following the discovery of potentially dangerous concrete.
Reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete was identified in the roof of the building on Pitt Street inThe Communication Workers Union said workers had been moved to an outside area. Andrew Kipling, of the South Yorkshire and district branch, said: "Staff at the unit are working tirelessly to provide some kind of service to their customers and this is being done outside in the yard area of the unit."
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: "We have limited access to certain sections of the Barnsley delivery office while we carry out a structural assessment of the building. "This is a precautionary measure to prioritise the safety of our employees. We have contingency plans in place to ensure mail continues to be processed and delivered.
