Rotary of Lake Houston set for fundraiser weekend
“We will be the official nonprofit at the Generation Park Block Party next Saturday,” Kevlin announced. “We will supply all the volunteers for the festival which runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Redemption Square in Generation Park,” he said.
“The festival had to be canceled the last two years because of the pandemic and this is the first year back,” he said.The Block Party is a family-friendly affair with lots of games for the kids, and they are expecting 4,000-plus.The third and final fundraiser is their annual Corvette raffle and give-away.
“Throughout the year we give back the money we raise for the Foundation to various groups in the community and also provide scholarships,” he said. This year, Kevlin said the club will also sponsor the youth exchange program which will include three students in-bound and out-bound. The student scholarships, 16 last year—two at each high school, through the Humble ISD Education Foundation.
