Neil Shaw has been involved with the borough for almost three years
Rossendale Council’s chief executive is to leave for new role with a university after almost three years with the borough.
Factors such as the loss of staff to larger councils or private firms and the lack of young planning officers have been cited by councils such as Rossendale, Ribble Valley and West Lancashire in recent months. Speaking about his departure from Rossendale Council, Mr Shaw said: “It has been a real privilege to be the council’s chief executive."During my time the council has progressed work on improving its town centres, seen the re-opening of the Whitaker Museum after its £2.
Councillor Alyson Barnes, the leader of Rossendale Council, said: “Neil led the council through its response to the Covid pandemic and played a leading role in both the council’s £17million bid to the Government’s Levelling-Up Fund to improve town centres and in progressing the City Valley Rail Link project. We are grateful to Neil and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
