The stakes are high in the professional golf game and nobody knows that better than Rory McIlroy.
He went into the final round of the Horizon Irish Open at the K Club on Sunday as the hot favourite to win having made his move into contention on Saturday.
A sliced three-wood approach shot into the water saw him rack up a triple bogey eight and spiral down the leaderboard. Those men all pocketed a cheque for €266,293.15 each. It was a costly lesson for McIlroy but with the chance to win an Irish Open, there's no doubt McIlroy would go for the top prize every time. That's what makes him probably the biggest draw in world golf right now.
