England secured an incredible seven-wicket victory over India
Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow guided England to an incredible seven-wicket victory over India at Edgbaston.
When England lost three wickets for just four runs on day four, needing, 269 to win, it looked bleak. Starting the final day of the fifth Test needing 119 more runs to win, with seven wickets remaining, Root and Bairstow’s fourth-wicket partnership soon passed 200 runs.
Bairstow continued his impressive summer by making his second century of the match as England continued to ease towards their target.
