The family say they have been overwhelmed by the generosity of Sir Rod Stewart
A family say they have been overwhelmed by the generosity of Sir Rod Stewart after he stepped in to help. The legendary singer helped to make a little girl’s dream come true after learning that she watches her mum go without food to feed her family.
Sir Rod said his 'heart broke' after reading the plight of schoolgirl Sophia McKenzie in the Daily Record. The 10-year-old penned a note on the how the cost of living crisis is affecting her family, who have had to rely on food banks, after she was asked to write about her hopes for the future as part of a task at school.
It comes after Heather told how she had no idea that Sophia was worrying about her going without food until she read her school note. Heather told the Daily Record: “This is pretty much Sophia’s dream coming true because she worries about us struggling every single day. I told her what Mr Stewart did and it has completely thrown her. We obviously never expected anything like this to happen.

Sabrina Ionescu has 15 and Griner has added 10 for Team Stewart. A big second half from Griner could send the MVP trophy her way, but Ionescu could also shoot her way to the trophy. Arike Ogunbowale scored 10 in the first half for Team Wilson, with Rhyne Howard — who professed an interest in winning the game's MVP — also having 10 points.
