The Rockets look to win a game in the second half of a back-to-back for the first time...

Guard John Wall forward/center Usman Garuba guard Daishen Nix and forward Trevelin Queen are out. Guard Kevin Porter Jr. is questionable.2. Defend something

The Jazz have the NBA’s top-rated offense. The Rockets own the league’s worst defensive rating. That led to the Jazz putting up 135 points even while coasting through the second half. But the mismatch was already clear with Donovan Mitchell knocking down five 3-pointers on his way to 30 points to take care of the outside and Rudy Gobert making 7 of 8 shots to take care of the inside before he was ejected after 22 minutes with two technical fouls. The Jazz made 55.

The Jazz have usually had him match up with Jae’Sean Tate, the Rockets’ 6-4 power forward. In the first meeting, when the Rockets shot a season-low 32.6 percent, Tate made 1 of 8 3-pointers with Gobert backing off and leaving him open to shoot. In the two games between the teams in Salt Lake City, Tate made 3 of 7 attempts, scoring 18 points in the win, and missed all four shots from deep in the loss. In his four games prior to Tuesday’s against the Clippers, Tate averaged 17 points on 63.
