A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Pilling during an incident that saw a road in Wyre being closed for five hours.
The incident took place on Head Dyke Lane at the junction with Carr Lane at around 10.45pm on Tuesday . The crash involved a pedestrian and a car. The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital. He suffered serious injuries, however police say they are not believe to be life threatening.Emergency services attended the incident and closed the road. It remained closed for five hours while police were at the scene.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "It was a collision between a car and a pedestrian at about 10.45pm yesterday on Head Dyke Lane at the junction with Carr Lane. "The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious, but thankfully not life threatening, injuries. The road was closed for five hours while we dealt with the incident."
