That schedule change restores temporary service reductions that started in August and caught the attention of a ranking state senator. Service was temporarily reduced after multiple problems with River Line trains put a dent in on-time performance in July and August, resulting in canceled and annulled trains, said Gregory Woods, NJ Transit light rail chief.
In that meeting, Singleton asked for interim solutions be developed and presented to him by Sept. 30 while they work on long-term solutions. That interim solution was restoration of the addition of four additional morning and afternoon weekday peak hour trains from the Trenton Transportation Center and four from the Waterfront Entertainment Center in Camden, announced by NJ Transit on Oct.3.
