, Mr Sunak sought to clarify his position having been asked by Labour’s Cat Smith when he last used an NHS dentist.Speaking at PMQs, he said: “I am registered with an NHS GP, but I have used independent healthcare in the past.”On Sunday Mr Sunak came under fire for failing to specify whether he is registered with an NHS GP.
In an interview with the BBC, the PM was asked whether he uses private healthcare but he dismissed this and said his family’s healthcare situation is a private matter and irrelevant. “As a general policy I wouldn’t ever talk about me or my family’s healthcare situation,” he said. “But it’s not really relevant, what’s relevant is the difference I can make to the country.”
