The former Man Utd defender has had his say on the protracted sale of the club
Rio Ferdinand has laid into The Glazer Family for their lack of communication over the sale of Manchester United but urged fans not to allow their ill feelings to hinder performances.
United have been hamstrung by Financial Fair Play this summer window, though the rising debt on the club hasn't helped either. That is a result of the Glazer's neglect over the past decade and beyond. Ferdinand has insisted the owners remain the biggest issue at the club and urged them to bring the takeover speculation to a resolution."So much of what is wrong with Manchester United starts and ends with the Glazer family," he wrote in a Mirror column.
"The only crumb of comfort for United supporters is that neither Sheikh Jassim nor Sir Jim Ratcliffe have called the Glazers’ bluff and walked away. So I’m still hopeful of a deal being struck. "I know that Stock Market regulations mean that only so much information can be made public. But there have never been proper lines of communication between those who own the club and those who love it. That can’t be right. How can the Glazer family demand respect from supporters when they give nothing back in return?"
