Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens punched a man over the weekend in a CVS parking lot near Los Angeles.
, 48, said in an interview Monday afternoon that the TMZ video accurately depicted the fisticuffs but didn't capture what led up to the fight.
A second customer came up and made threats against the 49ers fan before they all made their purchases and stepped outside, Owens said. "When we walked out, he approached the both of us, and I was trying to prevent this guy from jumping on the fan. I tried to defuse or de-escalate the situation. He was persistent and wanting to beat the guy up. I didn't want to see that happen."
